Chris Whitehead a resident of Nags Head community, lovin man, hard worker, surfer, snowboarder, hiker, geologist and friend to many, was unexpectedly jumped & stabbed in the neck January 26th leaving a local establishment. Chris sustained serious life threatening injuries from the stabbing resulting in a severed carotid artery causing him to have a massive stroke, right side partial paralysis, loss of voice from damaged vocal cords, repeated cranial surgeries, fed by feeding tube, and hospitalized for 38 days, intense rehabilitation, and now continued outpatient therapy.

Chris cannot drive or work, and he like many have two jobs to live on the Outer Banks, his fulltime lively hood as a year-round Pool & Tech Service Tech and part time Bartender. Fortunately, Chris had health insurance but the insurance does not and will not cover all of the massive amount of medical bills, equipement and necessary therapy for him to recover. Chris and his wife now live off one income while they adjust to the drastic life change.
