School Supplies Delivered to Hatteras and Ocracoke
The Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce held a school supply drive for Hatteras and Ocracoke. “I saw a Facebook post from a teacher worried about getting supplies for the school year,” said Karen Brown, President of the Chamber of Commerce, “and sent out a request to all Chamber members.” The members responded in a big way. The lobby of our office on Town Hall Drive was filled with pens, pencils, notebooks and more for the children as well as needed supplies for the schools.
On Friday, August 25, Chamber staff delivered the supplies to Hatteras Elementary and to Ocracoke School in a bus provided by Chamber member, Dianne Denny, of Spring Arbor. The students and the schools were very happy to receive all the supplies. The Chamber of Commerce thanks our members for their generosity for the children.
