Community Grant Application for Seafood Festival is Now Open
The Outer Banks Seafood Festival’s Community Grant Application is now open. The Mission of the Outer Banks Seafood Festival is to provide a fun and educational experience, promoting, honoring and celebrating our coastal seafood heritage and community. These purposes are exclusively nonprofit, charitable, and educational.
This year the Outer Banks Seafood Festival is able to award grants to eligible organizations whose mission and purpose align with the purposes of the festival. These grants will be handled as reimbursement grants. Organizations receiving funds must provide proof of fund expenditures for the purpose stated in the grant application.
Eligible organizations will be part of the Outer Banks community. Organizations applying for funds will need to include an explanation of the proposed use of the funds being requested and estimated costs associated with the proposed project. An explanation of how the grant funds fit into the overall project should also be included.
Grant applications are available at www.outerbanksseafoodfestival.org/about/grant-program/. The applications are due on March 23, 2018 at 5:00pm. Applications can be dropped off at the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce located at 101 Town Hall Drive, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27949.
The mission of the Outer Banks Seafood Festival is to provide a fun and educational experience promoting, honoring and celebrating our coastal seafood heritage and community. The Festival promotes the positive social and economic impact of the seafood industry on the citizens of the Outer Banks; educates the public about seafood and its importance to the area’s economy; publicizes the wide variety of seafood indigenous to North Carolina and the Outer Banks and provide the opportunity for people to enjoy it; boosts tourism and recreation on the Outer Banks in the non-summer months; establishes a scholarship program for educational pursuits related to the seafood industry and provides the opportunity for Outer Banks non-profit, civic, church and educational organizations to raise funds through participation in the festival.
