Holiday Bazaar Highlights Women’s Association of Duck Woods Country Club’s November Meeting
Daphne Akers, bazaar chair, peruse the beautiful merchandise on display at the ninth annual holiday bazaar, composed of 25 vendors, which was the highlight for more than 150 members and guests at the November meeting of the Women’s Association of Duck Woods Country Club recently. These offered an array of items ranging from jewelry to prints to clothing items to embroidered gift items to lotions and soaps to holiday decorations to sweets and baked goods to locally made textiles and candles.
The vendors included: Afterglow Wine Lights & Gifts, All Ducked Out, Anne Marie Brown, Belinda Foster, Brenda Bria, Candy & Corks, Carol Trotman, Confetti Clothing Co., Dunes of Dare Garden Club, E. M. Corsa, Hatteras Saltworks, Hollow Daze Surf Designs, Joan King, Kim Mosher Designs, Lynnette Dunaye, Low Tide Jewels, Made in the OBX, Miss Lizzie’s, Outer Banks Women’s Club & Food for Thought, SJ Sews, Stella & Dot Jewelry, Sweater Box Confections, Treasures From A Mermaid Purse, Untucked and Zip & Zip.
The association presents an educational program monthly and reaches out into the community by conducting an array of projects. It holds two blood drives, provides volunteers to Food for Thought to help pack weekend meal bags for area children in need, donates items for the Food Pantry, provides a scholarship to an area student whose post-secondary education has been interrupted or delayed, and participates in the Christmas Families program, part of the Angel Gift program coordinated by the Outer Banks Women’s Association through Dare County Social Services.
