We have great Events on the Outer Banks. The diversity reflects our dynamic and diverse population. Some Events are big ones. They bring in visitors and tourists, while locals join right in. Others are small groups celebrating, learning, serving, training, displaying arts, singing and acting. The CommonGood calendar is a tool for the public to promote community events and activities. Events should be open to the public, community-oriented and sponsored by an organization or an agency or group that is a not-for-profit, (e.g., charitable, faith based, educational, cultural, recreational, governmental etc.) or non-income generating community group or individual. What is NOT allowed: Neighborhood Yard Sales, Regularly scheduled weekly events (i.e. fitness classes, dance lessons,church servics etc.). Private events, such as family reunions and birthday parties. Business, commercial or garage sale advertisements. Expressive event or content taken to change religious beliefs or affiliation. Content that promotes, fosters or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or mental disability or sexual orientation. Sexual content or links to sexual content. *Yard Sales are sponsored by a nonprofit and benefit the community good are allowed.
