The Elizabethan Gardens has received a $5,000 grant from Dominion Energy North Carolina through the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation to enhance their educational programs by re-purposing a building for that goal.

Do you enjoy gardening and talking with others about it? Do you have a passion for making a difference in your community? Well then, consider becoming part of the Extension Master Gardener Volunteers! The Extension Master Gardener Volunteers is an outreach group of the N.C. Cooperative Extension and NC State University. These volunteers serve their community by sharing research-based information on horticulture related issues and community beautification projects.
Like illuminated gems setting the night ablaze with lights, The Elizabethan Gardens’ WinterLights truly adds sparkle to the crown jewel of Outer Banks attractions in Manteo. The year-round garden has once again bedecked their lush greenscape with millions of lights that blazon winter nights from November to January.
After such a mild summer, it seems like we’ve had fall weather already doesn’t it?
The summer was wonderful for our plant collection. The constant supply of rain (thank you mother nature) really kept us growing! So we expect fall to be exceptional as well.

October is our fall shoulder month, the perfect time to phase out any remaining summer annuals, and prepare the beds for cooler weather annuals.
